We will be starting our year by implementing and practicing good math workshop routines and habits. Students will be focusing on learning about factors, multiples, prime/composite numbers, and fractions.
Our units in Grade 6 are thoughtfully crafted, blending both reading and writing to make an authentic ELA experience. Rarely are either done in isolation, as reading and writing are naturally connected.

We will be kicking off our year with our Earth Science unit. The focus of this unit will be astronomy where students will be learning about the universe, moon phases, eclipses and gravity .
Building on what students have learned about civics, economics, geography, and history in previous grades, the Grade 6 (and 7) standards are designed to deepen students’ understanding of how the social science disciplines can be used systematically in the study of countries, regions, and the past.
